Contractor Marketing Agency
One plan for SEO, Google search ads, Local Services Ads, Meta and your website, built around the jobs you want more of and the work your crews can take on.
Definition
What is contractor marketing?
Contractor marketing is the work of getting a trade business chosen by the homeowners who need it and turning that attention into booked jobs. A contractor here means a home-service or specialty trade such as roofing, remodeling, electrical, landscaping, concrete and paving, or painting. The work covers each place a homeowner may meet you before calling: your Google Business Profile and service pages in search, Google search ads and Local Services Ads shown when people search for the job, Meta ads built from photos of your finished projects, and the reviews and website behind all of them. A contractor marketing agency plans those channels together and should be judged on what a booked job costs, not on clicks.
One plan, one report
SEO, search ads, Meta and the website are planned together, so each channel has a clear job and one monthly report shows the calls and booked jobs each produced.
Channels chosen by trade
A storm repair, a kitchen remodel and an exterior repaint get different channel mixes in our plans, so the budget follows where your own jobs come from, not a fixed package.
Your accounts, your data
You keep full ownership of your ad accounts and data, you own the code of any website we build, and every retainer is month-to-month, so you can leave with all of it.

Contractor marketing services in one plan
Contractor marketing services work best as one plan, because search ads, Meta and SEO send homeowners to the same website and the same office phone. Three facts set the plan: the jobs you want more of, what each is worth to you, and how much work your crews can take on. With a budget under our minimums, the do-it-yourself checklist for small service businesses is a better start than a thin retainer, and a general contractor or commercial builder that wins work through bids fits our construction marketing plan better.
Contractor digital marketing: SEO, PPC, LSA and Meta
Contractor digital marketing works when each channel has its own job and the budget follows the job. Google contrasts standard Google Ads, "pay-per-click text ads open to any business," with Local Services Ads (LSA), "pay-per-lead listings for verified local service providers," and says all businesses must pass its screening and verification process to advertise there (Google Local Services Ads). We advise on Local Services Ads and count their leads next to the channels we run.
- SEO: your Business Profile, a page for each service, service-area pages and reviews, found without paying per click
- Google search ads (PPC): campaigns by service and town, each sending clicks to a landing page for that service
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram): photos and short videos of your finished projects, used for planned jobs rather than emergency calls

Home service contractor marketing by trade
Home service contractor marketing changes with the trade: in our plans, urgent repairs and planned projects get different channels. Google's Local Services Ads page lists the home services eligible for its Google Verified badge. The list names roofing, electricians, landscapers, painters and general contractors, but not remodeling, hardscaping, concrete or paving, so for those trades we check which listed category, if any, fits before Local Services Ads join the plan (Google's list of eligible home services). Our starting weights for each trade, before your own numbers adjust them:
- Roofing: search ads and Local Services Ads take leak and storm-repair calls, SEO carries replacement and material pages, and Meta carries photos of finished roofs for planned replacements
- Remodeling: SEO leads with project galleries and pages on what drives the cost, Meta shows finished kitchens and baths, and search ads stay on ready-to-hire searches
- Electrical: search ads and Local Services Ads take urgent calls, SEO carries panel upgrades, EV charger installs and generator work, and Meta runs only for planned upgrades
- Landscaping and hardscaping: SEO for design, patio, paver and retaining-wall pages built on project photos, Meta ahead of the months your crews book up, and Local Services Ads for landscaping and lawn care
- Concrete and paving: SEO and search ads for driveway, patio and repair jobs, with photos of your own pours doing the selling, and Local Services Ads only where a listed category fits
- Painting: SEO and Meta built on before-and-after photos of interior and exterior jobs, with search ads and Local Services Ads for homeowners ready to book an estimate
- Plumbing: search ads take the emergency calls, and SEO carries scheduled work such as water heaters and repipes

Service contractor marketing for multi-location firms
Multi-location contractor marketing gives each real branch, with its own crews and the towns they drive to, its own Business Profile, ad campaigns aimed at those towns, tracking numbers and a line in the monthly report. The brand, website and creative stay shared, so a storm surge in one market or a slow season in another shows up in that branch's numbers instead of being averaged away. Location pages get the same test as service-area pages: one per branch or market, only where there is something true to say about the work there. Google's spam policies count pages targeted at different cities that funnel users to one page as doorway abuse and warn that violating sites "may rank lower in results or not appear in results at all" (Google spam policies).
Websites that convert for contractors
Every search ad and Meta campaign we run sends clicks to its own landing page, and organic search sends homeowners to your service pages, so your website decides how many of those visits become calls. Landing pages come with paid ads management, technical fixes come with SEO, and a full rebuild is a fixed-fee project whose code you own (conversion-focused website design). Our builds and fixes center on five elements:
- A tap-to-call number and a quote button at the top of every page
- A page per service, with photos of your own finished jobs and what changes the price
- The towns you serve, stated plainly, so out-of-area visitors know before they call
- A quote form short enough to finish on a phone
- Ad landing pages that repeat the ad's service and town, with nothing leading away from the call
Contractor marketing company pricing
Contractor marketing pricing at Foundgrove is set per service, so you can start with the channel your trade leans on, such as search ads for a roofer or SEO for a remodeler, and add another later. Every retainer runs month-to-month with no minimum term, and ad spend is paid on top of the management fee (full pricing and tier details).
- SEO (Business Profile, service and service-area pages, reviews, technical fixes): from $2,500/mo
- Paid ads management (Google search ads and Meta, with Local Services Ads advice): from $3,500/mo plus ad spend
- Website design or rebuild: $8,500–$25,000 one-time, a fixed fee set by scope
- First step: a free 10-minute video teardown, with no card or call required
The order of work: what we set up first
The work runs in a fixed order so no ad money lands on a page or profile that cannot turn a visit into a call. We put no date on rankings, as Google's own guidance says "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google" (Google Search Central), so start the setup ahead of your busy season rather than in it, and judge the pace in the monthly report.
- First: call and form tracking, the Business Profile, and fixes to the pages ads will send people to
- Next: Google search ads once tracking is live, and Local Services Ads advice where your category fits
- Alongside: service pages, service-area pages and the review workflow SEO builds on
- Then: Meta from your finished-project photos, and more trades or towns as each channel shows its cost per booked job
How we report booked jobs
Cost per booked job is a formula you can run yourself: what you spent on a channel in a month divided by the jobs it booked. Search ads, Local Services Ads and Meta then compete for next month's budget on that number, weighed against the work your crews can take on. Each monthly report shows:
- Calls, forms and Local Services Ads leads by channel, and by trade for multi-trade firms
- Booked jobs by channel, where your booking system or CRM shows them
- Spend and cost per booked job for each channel, side by side
Proof from a paver and hardscaping contractor
Our published contractor case is a paver installation and hardscaping contractor that began an SEO engagement in November 2025: the paver contractor case study records organic clicks up 64% since signup, measured in the client's own Google Search Console. It is an SEO result, so it shows organic clicks, not calls, booked jobs or revenue, and the client is anonymized by sector. None of our published case studies covers paid search, Local Services Ads or Meta for a contractor.

FAQs
Common questions about contractor marketing.
What is the best marketing for contractors?
The best marketing for a contractor is the channel mix with the lowest cost per booked job for the work it wants more of, and that mix depends on the trade. In our plans, urgent repairs run through search ads, Local Services Ads where the category fits, and the Business Profile, while planned projects lean on project pages, photos, reviews and Meta.
Do you work with multi-trade contractors?
Yes. A company that does roofing and siding, or painting and drywall, gets one plan with separate campaigns, pages and budget lines for each trade, so one trade's campaigns never spend the other trade's budget. The monthly report splits calls, forms and booked jobs by trade, so you can see which line of work pays for its marketing.
Can we turn ads down when our crews are booked out?
Yes. We lower or pause search ads and Meta while the schedule is full and raise them again as it opens up, and Google's Local Services Ads page says advertisers can adjust their monthly budget whenever they need to. We recommend keeping SEO work going through busy stretches, so new pages and reviews keep building while the ads are off.
Do you sell contractor leads?
No. Foundgrove is a marketing agency, not a lead marketplace: we run your campaigns in ad accounts you own, so the calls and forms they produce come straight to your business. You keep full ownership of your ad accounts and data, and they stay with you if you leave, along with the code of any website we build.
